“But God” References

Our circumstances DO NOT get the last word.
The enemy DOES NOT get the last word.
Death and disease DO NOT get the last word.
Trials and pain ARE NOT in vain.
Suffering and grief DO NOT go unnoticed.

God intervenes with mercy and power. No, he does not promise to make all hard things go away in this life, but he (through the mess, pain, suffering, etc.) is bringing about his plan to be made known and worshipped by all Peoples. He will go to extreme measures, but God knows what he is doing.

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. – Genesis 8:1

Yet your father has cheated me and changed my wages ten times. But God did not permit him to harm me. – Genesis 31:7

If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands, and last night he rebuked you. – Genesis 31:42
